This research group was founded in 2002. The main lines have been: modeling the emission of Diesel Particulate Matter, removal of pollutants (p-coumaric acid, cyanides, dyes, pharmaceuticals, etc.) from industrial aqueous effluents using advanced oxidation processes using artificial ultraviolet radiation and/or solar radiation and recovery of heavy metals (mercury, nickel) from contaminated waters and soils using ion exchange processes.
